Allow us to introduce one of the Boax family: Angus Paterson.

Angus is a man with a lot of fingers in a lot of pies around Chamonix (figuratively speaking) and has been involved with Boax since 2008 as a designer and consultant.  Now a full partner in the company, Angus is responsible for all graphics and design including the 11/12 t-shirt and hoodie range and website layout.

Not bad on a pair of skis either, but still working on backflips…

A slow start to the park season! After a few days of high altitude warm up shredding in the glacier park, the weather set in for December and didn’t really let up! Some epic pow days and a few good urban shots.

High winds left off piste wind buffed and crusty until early January. After the welcome snow the park was up and running and slopestyle kicked off! Just unfortunate for a young David Bilsland who had some rough weather for his week but an awesome shred with me and Mike Rowlands on new years day… if a little hungover!

A few weeks of heavy sessioning through slopestyle and the rail lines, and a sweet session on moose’s new Stabmobile; his new limo with a sweet a frame over the top!

But after that the weather returned, and we are currently shredding in the -20’s with extra socks!

Plans are now underway to bring the boys to Chamonix in March for some real skiing!  More updates and edits coming soon…

It’s a well known fact that pompoms make you a better rider*, so we’re now offering a simpler way to order the Classic beanie with a pompom.  What you see is what you get.  Or if you don’t like the standard pompom colour just add a note at checkout stating an alternative and the pompom elves will get on the case.

Things have been a little quiet on the Boax blog & Facebook page lately, mainly because we’ve been out making the most of the amazing snow conditions around Chamonix after the Christmas rush, which I’m sure you can forgive us for!  Trees, pillow lines, faceshots, steeps, touring, we’ve had it all.  Maybe we’ll even take a few park laps this week during the current dry spell.  Maybe.

Introducing the Unix t-shirt from our new clothing range for winter 2011/2012.  The main inspiration for the Boax Clothing designs this season was to use shapes from nature in a modern way. The four designs draw inspiration from sea pack ice cracking, snowflakes, trees and – with the Unix design – Cells. This design uses the packed strict structure of cells to create a 3D pattern from the Boax symbol.

All t-shirts are 100% heavyweight cotton, hand printed in the UK with Boax embroidery on the rear and woven Boax hem label.

We’d like to take this opportunity to share with you a blog run by friends of the Boax family, The Chamonix Collective. The Collective was set up last year as a place for like-minded people in Chamonix to post their articles, photos & videos and bring them to a larger audience.

Chamonix is a world-renowned resort, famous for its extreme skiing and climbing as well as having some spectacular views; the reason that we now call it home. There are many sponsored skiers scattered throughout the valley, but also many more talented athletes that you may never had heard of.  The Chamonix Collective gives these people the opportunity to get their footage out there and enjoyed by a wider audience.

We would like to introduce one of the team behind Boax Clothing.  James Spencer is our team manager and sales rep. Joining the Boax team in 2010 as a sponsored rider with a strong desire to grow the clothing range, he has progressed into the company itself this year.

Spencer has been living in Chamonix for the last 5 years and over the last three he has started to push himself into the sales side of the ski industry. He now works as a distributor for 4FRNT Skis in France, supplying shops in Chamonix and Val d’Isère as well as working on brand promotion for other companies wishing to be recognised in the Alps.
